Autumn Mist

Misty Days of Autumn

Autumn Mist
Misty Days of Autumn

On looking out of my window this morning I see fog and very little else.  Ah…this will be a great day to photograph the Autumn mist in my local park.  I check the forecast and there are a good few hours of mist.  Great this will let me have a concentrated morning’s shoot with no worries.  Towards mid-day the fog will lift and lingering misty conditions will remain.  I imagine the atmosphere of my shots as I head out.

The park is quiet…i like the silence and walk slowly through the mist which envelops the land.  I see one or two people hazily in the distance.  They are so out of focus and remote from me.  It is quiet as I make my way.  I hear the crunch of leaves underfoot as I make my way.  Trees are tall and as I walk forward to frame my shots I am enveloped in mist.  Through the mist leaves appear lacelike, soft and gentle.  The lack of detail on their trunks and branches render their surfaces as soft charcoal.  I love the land.  I take my shots and marvel at the understated beauty around me.  All is quiet, all is good.  This is to be remembered.
