Privacy, Cookie Policy and GDPR Compliance

What Information Do We Collect?

We need a certain minimum amount of information to process your order and be able to contact you again about the course or courses you book.  The minimum we require is your name, your email and usually your mobile telephone number. We only want the minimum from you so that we can process your order efficiently and contact you with the information you need to join our courses.

Other information that we might store relates to gift vouchers where we need to know who the recipients are – so you are giving us their basic information like name and email address on their behalf so that we can process the vouchers.

You have the right to request that any data we have should be deleted and we will comply with all requests in good time after your course has taken place. Please use our contact form – but also see below ‘control of your data’ below, since there can be advantages of us having your data to hand.

For gift voucher purchases we need to store the data securely until the voucher has been redeemed and the course taken so that we can provide the course.

We never share your email/contact details with third parties – this is confidential and is know only to us so that we can process your order.

Security

We never take or store financial information.  We leave that to Paypal who are experts in security. We can check transactions in our Paypal account, however that still does not include financial or address details.

The website is maintained by us and is not contracted out to external web-masters who would have access to passwords etc. Our database is kept on secure servers separate from the main website and it cannot be accessed except by us through our own secure web-space.

What do we Use this Information For ?

We use this to process your orders efficiently and so we can answer any enquiries you may have about your own booking(s).

Links to other websites

It is clear when you are on our website from the header and website colours. You can also check the domain name www.lousmith.co.uk is included in the address bar.

There are links to other website that may be of interest to our customers. Once you leave our website using other links please note that we do not control these websites and you should read their privacy policy for your own protection if you are going to enter any information.

Your Control over your Data

We will only contact you about your order and send timely reminder about upcoming course dates.

If you wish to have your basic on-line data removed as soon as your business with us is completed please email us and we will comply as soon as practically possible. Note that a basic recording of the transaction with any order number but without your personal data will be kept for our records.

Before having your data removed please be aware of some of the consequences, for example, you might apply for a job or make a college application and state that you did a course with Lou Smith, or you might do another course with us.  Having your details would help us advise you on progression routes and enable us to assist confirming you completed a course with Lou.

When you complete an online mentoring course, you control personal data in your dashboard and you can delete it as you wish.
