On Saturday 16th January we made our way through the crowds at Trafalgar Square to find an even bigger squeeze of people at Leicester Square, which has been transformed into an Enchanted Garden of Light and Colour.
I saw a news story about Lumiere London at Kings Cross and decided to go along and photograph the illuminations. Ron and I travelled into London on the Saturday evening. As we made our way to Kings Cross we quickly realised that London was packed. We changed our route as public transport was disabled between many of the sites and made our way on foot instead. We were in for a busy evening as London bustled with crowds, who came to see this exciting event. (more…)
Remembrance Sunday falls on the 2nd Sunday of the month, the Sunday nearest to Armistice Day 11th November. It is a time of remembrance and commemoration to the contribution of service men/women and civilians in the first 2 World Wars and later conflicts. Red poppies have become a metaphor for Remembrance Sunday. (more…)

It’s Sunday 21st April and the runners are picking up an amazing pace right at the start of the London Marathon. Crowds pack the pavements, and even some of the runners leave the road to overtake using the pavement. Watch out! Photographer in the way! Bash, bump right into (more…)
Expect dragon slaying, entertainers, musicians, stalls and people dressed up having a good time on St George’s Day London 2013. Location Trafalgar Square. Lou Smith, camera in hand was there to capture the liveliness of this annual event.
The Chinese New Year is a fantastic display of colour. Chinese dragons, dancers, firecrackers and music are all part of this visually rich display. An amazing opportunity to experience this cultural event without even leaving the country! London popped with colour and (more…)
