Greenwich is hosting several equestrian events in the historic setting of Greenwich Park. The seating is almost complete and looks dramatic in the beautiful July sunshine. The seating is vast and has taken months to install. The equestrian events take place 29th July – 9th August. Were you fast enough to get a ticket? The construction is amazing – lots of shiny scaffolding supporting the huge seating structures. Remember to take a pair of binoculars if you are sitting right at the top! (more…)
Diamond Jubilee Day 2012 – Thousands of people travelled to Central London to watch the amazing River Pageant. Excitement in the air as crowds arrived in thousands to secure a place on the banks of the River Thames. Heavy rain dominated the day, but no one cared. Out came the Union Jack hats and umbrellas – nothing could dampen the revellers spirits as they waited for the flotilla of over 1000 boats. History in the making and thousands flocked to the river banks to watch. (more…)

Occupy London Protesters have set up camp outside St Paul’s Cathedral since October 15th 2011. The protesters are from the Occupy London Stock Exchange Organisation. Over 3,000 protesters gathered in the square outside the London Stock Exchange with the aim to occuppy it. London police stopped that from happening and the protesters have now set up camp outside St Paul’s Cathedral in London. (more…)
Yes, it’s that time of year when all photographers turn their attention to the local fireworks display. Living in London, means endless opportunities to bag a few great shots at one of the many fireworks displays. With the words of old adds ringing in my ears, Light Up the Sky etc I made my way to the local firework display. This type of shot can be tricky if you do not understand exposure. Best to shoot in manual at 100 ISO. I set my lens to manual focus and set an aperture value of f11. Hang loose, and experiment with slow shutter speeds until you get the look you like. Here we go!
