Abstract Form

Today the sun is shining and I feel the power of the elements around me.  This time of year is when everything awakens from a long sleep.  Day light is longer and the sense of seeing lingers when light is luminous.  The air is fresh, cool on my face and the breeze drifts around me.  I like the feel of the invigoration of the day.  Everywhere around me are elements of abstraction for exploring abstract form.  This is a good day to create abstract images…

Golden Glow Through The Trees

Another Autumn day in the Park and the light is gently filtered.  As I make my way I come to a clearing which is illuminated by golden light.  I look as see a wave of gold in front of me and as I gaze I see thousands of leaves filling the air around me.  They are golden and glow through the trees.  I look down at my feet and golden hues are reflected on the path.  I look and see its colouration on my hands and I anticipate my face is golden too.  (more…)

Yellow Autumn Leaves
Yellow Leaves of Autumn Revealed Through the Mist

I love the quiet which the Park brings to my day.  As I walk I see this view which stretches across the Park.  The mist is haunting as it slowly reveals the yellow leaves of Autumn behind its veil.

This is a view to linger on, taking time to see each nuance of colour, detail, atmosphere and sublime textures of this day.

Entering Autumn

Greenwich Park at Autumn
Gateway to Autumn; all is yellow ochre, soft green and orange mists.

Today in the Park I marvel at the vibrant bursts of colour; yellows, orange, reds and light green. Autumn is underway and as I walk I see leaves falling softly as the wind blows through the trees.

London is a fast moving city. The landscape and make up of this city is ever changing. Central London has had a huge development of luxury apartments and modern office space. The design of modern architecture is effortlessly sleek and I like the clean lines. Homes have also started to look like offices as clean lines are echoed throughout living spaces. (more…)

Autumn Colours in Greenwich Park

Leaves Take on the Colours of Autumn
Beautiful Autumn Colours Glow in Seasonal Mists

Seasons change and in the Park leaves turn golden and copper and I can see Autumn colours everywhere.  This is a season I love to photograph especially when gentle mists blow in.  Today is no exception, and as I make my way through the Park I hear leaves crunch underfoot.  It was only a few weeks ago and leaves were still green covering branches.  (more…)

Summer Flowers are Ready to Bloom

Greenwich Park has awoken from a long sleep and is ready to burst with colour.  Summer flowers are in bud and wait for the sun to finally bloom.  The park is stirring with life and soon the air will be filled with scents.  The Iris is still in bud.  The form of the flower can just be seen as it grows from its stem.  The blue colouration of the Iris flower is just visible (more…)

The Mist Rises Eerily from the Ground

I love photographing mist.  It is a time when few people are around as the damp, the wet and lack of visibility keeps them away.  For photographers it is a time of reflection as it forces us to consider absolutely what we want to photograph and how much of it we want to see in our photographs.

Misty today as I set out…visibility is down to about 15 yards.  The park is silent as I walk through taking in shapes and forms of the landscape. (more…)
